Sept 07 2021-Another war of words between state and federal leaders has erupted over vaccine allocation, with Premier Daniel Andrews accusing the Commonwealth of shortchanging Victoria on vaccine allocations.“I signed up to a national plan to vaccinate our nation, not a national plan to vaccinate Sydney," he said.He said hundreds of thousands of vaccines that should have been given to Victorians were given to Sydney GP clinics."Some allocations, well I don't begrudge that, Sydney are in a very different set of circumstances, but they were known, they were announced," he said."This was not announced. This was done without anyone knowing, and the Commonwealth have got caught doing it."
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt disputed the notion the allocation was unfair, pointing to the extra doses Victoria received during its first Delta outbreak. He said allocation decisions had been made to "save lives" and Victoria had received "a higher per capita rate of doses delivered than NSW".Mr Hunt said Victoria's state-administered vaccination system had received 3 million doses, and the NSW government had received just over 3.3 million doses.
